PQ of Production Supervisor

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a First-line Production Supervisor

A First-line Production Supervisor plans, organises, controls, leads, coordinates and reviews production operations of an a single unitorganisation. He manages physical and human resources in production or manufacturing processes. His duties may include managing first-line supervisors, such as foremen, team leaders, charge-hands, tradesmen, craftsmen, process control technicians, machine operators,assemblers, labourers and other workers. His duties cover maintenance, monitoring and control of occupational health and safety, legal compliance, quality assurance, trouble shooting and problem solving. A First-line Production Supervisor is required to schedule and oversee production activities and resources for efficiency and continuous improvement. He also plays a key role in training and development including on-the job-training and development.

A qualified learner will be able to:

• Plan, organise, control, lead, coordinate, and review production operations of a unit, including physical and human resources.
