The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a Dump Truck Operator.

A Dump Truck Operator operates and controls a dump truck to move and dump material for mining or construction operations. The qualified learner will know the functioning and operating of the dump truck, including the health, safety and the environmental requirements and will be able to operate the machine productively and safely.

A qualified learner will be able to:

• Operate a dump truck for mining and construction operations
