The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as an Aids to Navigation (AtoN) Technician.

The AtoN Technician installs, commissions, maintains and repairs infrastructure and equipment.

A qualified learner will be able to:

• Install and commission AtoN equipment and infrastructure.
• Maintain and repair AtoN.
• Execute hazard identification and risk assessment duties and contingency plans.
